    Printer printing very tiny script

Hi docs. A friend of mine just bought a new printer and the printing is really tiny!!! Her previous printer was also printing very small. Is there a way to fix this? She is running Windows XP on an older PC (Dell, I think.)

She was running an HPDeskjet(?) 5100 series printer before and now has an HP Photosmart 5520 All-in-One. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Steve

Is your printer set for "Portrait" mode?

Is your printer set for "Shrink-to-fit"?

If your printer is set for "Portrait" and "Shrink to fit", you may be forcing it to reduce the size of everything on the page in order to get it all crammed into the narrow 8-1/2" width of the paper.

What happens if you set your printer for "Landscape" (11" wide) mode (and leave the "Shrink to fit" enabled)?

SteveMP170--When I click Page Setup there is a link at the bottom left to "Change Font". That includes size of font.

The printer is set to "portrait." I checked "properties" but did not notice "Shrink to fit." I checked all the possibilities under "advanced," but nothing looked like it would solve my problem. Any other suggestions?

When viewing this page that we're reading in Windows 7's IE, if I click "File" > "Page Setup..." I see this:

If I do the same in Windows XP's IE, I see:

And if I do the same in Windows 8's IE, I see:
