    D915gav memory speed questions

I'm using my backup PC which is an Intel D915GAV while I get my ASUS situation sorted out. I have all 4 slots filled with the exact same ddr400 supertalent ram. The BIOS reads them as 400 but the clock speed is set at 333mhz. The BIOS has the option to change this like the ASUS to the proper 400 to match ram speed. However when I attempt this on this intel system it locks up and I have to reset the bios jumper to get my system to reboot. It doesn't matter which option I use. Manual-aggressive or manual.

One stick is reading at 2.5 though which shouldn't be since they are all the same. Wonder if that has anythign to do with it. It doesn't seem to matter to my ASUS which these came out of. bios screen shot.jpg

Here is a link to the pdf manual which doesn't get into the settings of these things too much. In other words its of no help here.

My question is to anyone with experience with this, am I just stuck with a 333mhz speed limit with this boards memory?

    If applicable,
Manually set timings and voltage for the memory in the CMOS/BIOS menu.
    Cheers.

When using manual settings, did you use 3-3-3-8 timings? That's what it should be according to your screenshot.

I set nothing except the speed at 400mhz.

That's probably why it locked up. You need to set the CAS timings as well. Like I said, it should be 3-3-3-8.
