I have watched all the new versions of windows come through this forum over the years.
Have read all the problems from betas through to rtms.
Windows 8 is the only version that has no activity in this forum.
Why?
No one like something different?

What does myob mean? Did you mean "mobo?"
If so, what happens/doesn't when you try to install the drivers?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I always keep an open mind and welcome something different if it's worthwhile. With a Desktop and two laptops (none touch screen) it does absolutely nothing for me. I've updated to every Windows OS since the days of DOS. This will be the first time I won't. I agree the Start button isn't a problem, I run everything from my Desktop and only use it once in a while to find some obscure thing I seldom use. The lack of activity suggests most people must tend to agree with this. I do hope you enjoy your "8".

Touch my monitor screen and I will probably detonate.
Reason my eyes are not what they were 40 years ago.
So far this 8 looks like the 2nd OS I will pass on.
Vista and Win 7 are doing just fine for me.

Personally, I am getting sick of Microsoft and other companies telling customers "This is the way you will do things. You do not get a choice, even though you are paying.". I will not be installing Windows 8, and I hope Microsoft learns a lesson from a Windows 8 failure.

No one's forcing you to to buy a product you don't like.
The manufacturer designs a product and throws out it there for sale.
If you like it, buy it. If not, don't. <-shrug->

Not quite correct. Microsoft has a virtual monoply on computer operating systems and other software. In order to try to force you to "upgrade", they will discontinue support for older versions - no more security updates for known vulnerabilities.

Well, ya could always switch to a Mac or one of the many distributions of Linux. As SpywareDr said "No one's forcing you to to buy a product you don't like." I tried it, I don't like it and I'm not going to buy it.

Some of us have to use computers for work. How many businesses do you think are likely to switch to linux or Macs? Windows 8 would just make my job that much harder and more time consuming.

So what you're saying then is Microsoft should be forced to continually re-write all of their ancient Operating Systems so that: 1) they will run on today's hardware, 2) support all of today's software, and 3) keep yesterday and today's malware at bay?

I think 8 is far superior to 7, i like the market place, i have downloaded a lot of free apps.
My windows mango phone works in perfect with 8.
But still if you don't like 8 don't complain about it, no one listens anyway.

Why not complain about it if you want to, your free to say what you want on this forum. Most of it isn't "complaints" but rather observations, good or bad, while trying it out. As to "no one listens anyway", I think it's just the opposite--people come here and read what's going on to possibly help evaluate if they may or may not want it. I'm really glad you like 8 and hope you continue to enjoy it. It's just not for everyone, especially Desktop users.
