[RESOLVED] IE9 issues
For some time time I can't always hilite text that I want to copy, that is to say it may take 2-3 tries before hiliting takes place, the cursor is erratic at times(jumps) and in general a big nuisance. Some of you may suggest that I change browsers but I happen to like IE and have always used it most often. Of course, if you tell me there is no hope--then I may consider another browser. Can IE be deleted and re-installed? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on this Compaq PC. Any response will be appreciated and as usual, TIA.
EDIT: I failed to indicate the browser is 64bit.

Why mess with the 64 bit version of IE9? Just use the regular version. Even that one has cursor issues though.

buf--I suspect the problem is with the mouse and not IE. Try another mouse.
But if IE9 is the problem, run IE9 with no add-ons.

Thank you JD and Jim. I was going to change the wireless Logitec mouse last night and then forgot to do it. I have just changed it and will test it for a while. I will leave this thread open for now but will come back for my final results and hoped for success. BTW, I am using the IE 9.0.812.16421 version but I do not see it listed in Control Panel.

In programs and features click View Installed Updates, IE is listed there, if you scroll down far enough.

There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

Thanks General. MS could not have hidden this entry any better; even if they had tried. According to the entry I found, this was installed on 6-30-11.
Start>Programs shows two IE listed. One is 64 bit and I assume the other is 32bit although that description is not shown. Both are versions 9.0.812.16421.

I'll accept your word for that, however I do not recall ever searching for it before. I never had too many questions about IE 8 or 9. Right now, it seems to be behaving.

OK and thanks to those who responded to my thread. All is fine now. I changed the wireless transmitter(?) for the mouse, updated the drivers and it seems to be behaving just fine. Still don't know why or how I have IE shown 2 times in my programs list but that does not bother me.
