[RESOLVED] Need an earlier System Restore Point
I would like to go back to April 14 but my list of restore points only goes back to May 24. Is there any hope for me. As usual, TIA.

This is not the correct forum. Which operating system are you talking about retoring?

Okay, I've moved it to the Windows 7 forum.
Though I don't think you can restore any further back if there isn't a restore point for that to happen.

Thanks and I did consider the Windows 7 forum but thought the one I chose to be better.

The one you chose was for General business software, like Office. Anything you do on Windows 7 is for the windows 7 forum.

Select the "Show more restore points" option to see the entire list.

When I said what I did, I assumed he already had that checked.

Doc, Nick and PL. Yep, I did that first thing before posting and April 24 was the last date listed--10 days too early. I was trying to undo that Easy File Duplicates which I had run on April 16. Thanks for your trying to help.

buf--Didn't you make a Backup any time before April 14?

Thanks Jim and yes, I would have most likely made a Sys. Backup OR surely the downloads I am prone to make could have created one automatically but April 24 was the oldest that was offered.

As newer ones are created, the older ones are deleted. Exactly how many are kept depends on how much disk space you allow Sys Restore to use. Restore points get deleted after 90 days regardless of how much disk space is allocated.
Nick.

AH, I had forgotten that one item Nick. I have a 500GB hard drive and the OS is 12% of that reserved for backups and the fact that as newer backups are made, older ones get deleted. I am not so sure that my total backups would have equaled the max before older ones would have been removed. "Something" would have triggered the deletion of the older backups but who can argue with a computer--and win. Right now, my Sys. Restore points number 6; 3 are for Flash attempts to install, 1 for Spamfighter installation and 2 were automatic backups and the oldest date one was made April 24.

buf--When I said "Backup" I meant Backup like in Win 7 "Backup and Restore" or Acronis True Image.
You seem to interpret it to mean a System Restore point.
