    It's gotten a lot less involved in the 12 years since that article was written, Dude. About time you do your own and put 98SE out to pasture - Microsoft stopped supporting it ages ago.

    It isn't very hard

    Start off with something easy, like upgrading the RAM, and you'll soon gather confidence. That's how I started, adding a stick of RAM 11 years ago, and I've been building my own ever since. And they've all been far better than anything I could have bought ready-made

    Really dated, but still good advice. One of several builds here at vdr where folks were helped.

    Years ago, I was adding an ISA graphics card and got electrocuted...that's how I started on the fun, adventurous road to PC building. I have NEVER considered buying a retail system since.

    EDIT: Good grief! Operation Delta was 11 years ago?? I feel so old....

    Dude;

    IF one can successfully plug a lamp plug into a wall socket, then one has all of the intellectual/physical skills needed to build a cornputer. Axe me, I've built about 6 and am gonna build anudder.
