XP - slow & unresponsive - text disappearing
Hi, in the past week my PC (XP Home with SP3) has been pretty unstable. It works okay for an hour or so and then programs start becoming unresponsive and text starts to disappear in places like the top of the web browser where the firefox logo is located. In my MSN window also although not totally. I can still see bits here and there.
I usually check the task manager when this happens to see if there's anything unusual in the processes list but even the task manager is suffering. The text in the tabs is no where to be seen at times along with the required process info. In the end a system reboot does the trick for a while but it continues to happen.
Quite a lot of application errors when I attempt to open new programs.
Application Error : The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d)
Any thoughts?
Some kind of issue with my PC's memory modules? Any software that might be able to identify the issue?
Just for the record, I've ran a virus and adware scan... nothing found.
Chris
