Home Network and Firewall Interfacing Problem

I am networking my XP Pro laptop with my older Win98SE desktop. I am using NetBIOS over TCP/IP

    http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/net-update.asp
    http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/net-xp.asp

Everything is working well until I installed ZoneAlarm 4.5.594 on the XP laptop. ZoneAlarm is blocking accesss to my 98SE , machine. I am getting the message

The firewall has blocked internewt access to 192.XXX.101 (NetBios)session from your computer (TCP Flag S

(I added the XXX to the ip address)

I am running ZoneAlarm 2.0.26 on the 98SE machine and it isn't interfering with the traffic but the ZoneAlarm on the laptop is stopping everything.

If I shut down ZoneAlarm on the laptop then I am back in business

What do I need to change to allow the home network to work through ZoneAlarm 4.5 without compromising security.

I am connected through a Linksys Broadband Router

    thanks Mark

Did you look at all the different setting within ZA? (firewall - main tab)
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

    OK here it is

In Zonealarm, you have to go into the Firewall - Zones menu and find the adapter that you are using and change it's status from Internet to Trusted Site

In the Firewall - main menu. You can change the priviledges of the two types - Internet Security and Trusted Zone security.

Now that I have changed my NIC card to Trusted Zone, I can talk through the firewall.

    thanks Mark
