Yahoo Messenger 6.0

I replaced Yahoo Messenger with the new YM 6.0...for some reason now my NIS Is interfering with it connecting, never had that problem before, and I had it set to Auto, I went to Yahoos Help site, and entered the information for connection information into the 'Yahoo Connection Preferences" STILL nothing works.

Do I need to do anything in NIS to configure it for this application, usually any Interenet APP i install NIS has no problem configuring automatically for it, now I am having problem with Yahoo.

Only when I disable Norton I . S. is when it works.

I am not too sure if the latest version of Yahoo Messenger is tested throughly by Yahoo, there have been a few other bugs that I have come across with it.

When I logged intot the latest version of YM, my friends list got added to my address book, which I did not want. Some of the friends on my list were already in the address book but it still added them with their yahoo id, I deleted them and it come back again.

The sealth settings have to be configured everytime to login, they are not permanent.

The new mail notification in the overview window does not show proper status, it does not refresh if I have new mails in my mailbox.

I across all these bugs, I am sure there might be some more.

I would suggest going back to the older version, luckly I had the installer for the older version. I am not using the latest version.

Try going back to the older version and see if the problem exists.

The new version of yahoo is not the beta version anymore. And yes there are some bugs in it. You can get an older version here. Yahoo old versions
