For the first time ever, I think a nasty may have got me (Resolved)
Hi all,
I was trying to fix a trivial problem in Win2000, as described here:
http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...395#post754395
I ended up re-installing IE6, which I got from the MS Downloads site and it's caused a certain amount of havoc. Despite the fact that my Norton Internet Security 2003 is fully up to date and I'm behind a firewalled router, I think something must have crept through somehow. It is taking about 3 minutes to open NAV and all field say "Refreshing" next to them. I can't run a scan at all.
I have two instances of Win2000 on separate partitions, so I booted into the secondary instance to back up some files, and use a recent Ghost image, only to find that NAV is doing exactly the same thing. As I don't have any files to worry about in that instance of 2K I restored a 2 week old Ghost image, where I know for certain that NAV was fine, and as soon as I booted back into it NAV was doing the same thing.
I've shut down the PC, and as I'm typing this I'm doing a full scan of my WinXP machine, which thankfully, seems fine. As I've never had anything like this before, I'd like as much advice as I can get before proceeding any further.
