    Question Command Prompt - Instant Messages

    How do you do instant messaging through MS-DOS command prompt??????

    (also, how do you view network computers through command prompt)
    XP Home
    512 MB RAM
    60 GB Harddrive
    32 MB Vid Card ( i know, it sucks)
    1.6 MHZ P4

    Enter NET to get a list of options. NET HELP {option} gives help on any particular one. You need NET SEND for messages and NET VIEW to display a list of networked PCs.

    Along what rambler already mentioned, the Messenger Service must be enabled in order to use the NET SEND for sending messages one-way, or turning off the built-in firewall in Windows XP if it's enabled.
