    [Me] Ghost 2002 Weirdness

Ok so I decided to install some software on my machine running WinMe.

Prior to doing so I made a ghost image of my C: and D: drives partitions which contain OS and program files respectively.

Used the check image file option and it was good.

After installing the software and deciding that I didn't want to keep it, I decided to revert back to my image backup.

From DOS, first I restored the C: partition, then I restored the D: partition.

    Rebooted and got into windows.

Went to go to explorer and got a message
Explore has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL and will now close
Similar message trying IE, Search, etc, Firefox wouildn't even start.

Thinking it must have been because I didn't reboot between each partition restoration, from DOS I restored C: again and rebooted to DOS then restored D: again.

Rebooted to Windows and this time on boot I got a whole numch of errors related to Avast Anti virus services.

I tried restoring both partitions again from DOS but got even more Avast errors.

The MSHTML.DLL error had now gone but I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall Avast to overcome the errors at boot.

So this would appear to point some sort of problem somewhere either in the image creation, the image itself or the restoration process.

    Any ideas ?
