Copy Controlled Audio Media S****
Not wanting to start up the whole copyright / file sharing argument, but I think that it sucks that I can buy digital media - won't call it a CD because it doesn't follow Phillips definition of AUdio CD - and can't then rip it to MP3 without it having skips, jumps, glitches etc in it.
They want me to go to www.musicfromemi.com to pay and d/l a glitch free version which is then restricted to copying 3 times to MP3 player or CD.
So potentially you could buy a CD with 10 songs on it for say AUD$30 and then if you wanted portable versions of the songs you need to pay another 10 x AUD$1.99 to d/l them.
They as may well be done with it and stop pressing CDs and make you d/l everything off the Internet
I actually managed to get round it through a conveluted way.
I can understand why they are doing it but..............

Btw i read the other day that the copyright on some early Elvis track runs out at the end of this year in Europe and that after that anyone can release the song without having to pay royalties to Lisa Marie or Pricilla or who ever owns the rights - probably Michael Jackson, he owns the rights to Beatles songs I think.
