Backup Software Recommendation?
Does anyone have any backup software recommendations?
Here is what I want to be able to do...
Pull a hard drive from another machine, place it into a USB drive enclosure, and back it up - first as an image (and/or a compressed file version) and then as non-compressed files (thus 2 backups). The backup machine that is being used has XP Pro. I want to be able to backup to multiple destinations - hard drive, usb drive, cd-r/rw, dvd-r/rw, etc. I want to be able to provide a backup of non-compressed files on cd/dvd and I would imagine this would span multiple discs.
In my pains of finding a better solution, I have come across these types of issues:
1) File name too long so it stops my backup process (typically during a file to file copy, sometimes from hard drive to hard drive and others from hard drive to cd/dvd).
2) File access denied errors, which stops backup process.
3) Buffer under-runs when attempting to backup to cd/dvd, which stops backup process.
4) Burner software disappears part way through backup to cd/dvd without throwing any errors. During which time the burner lights blink and so does the hard drive - it is like it still could be working, but it looks more like it is blinking due to some error condition. Of course, this stops backup process and causes a need to reboot the system.
5) There is most likely other issues that I have encountered to, but just don't recall them right now.
The issues I have encountered are a real time killer. There has to be a better way.
In the past, I posted a similar question here:

I am still looking for a more optimal solution, which is why I turn here again.
Thanks,
