Heads up about Juno
Anyone read their service agreement recently?
What the hell is this?
Section 2.5
"You expressly permit and authorize Juno to (i) download to your computer one or more pieces of software (the "Computational Software") designed to perform computations.....Juno may require that you leave your computer on at all times, and may replace the screen saver software that runs on your computer...... you agree not to take any action to disable or interfere with the operation of either the screen saver software or any other component of the Computational Software..."
Let me see if I understand this. Juno wants to use the end users systems to do computations. That must mean that their existing systems do not do computations. Yeah RIGHT!
Just a heads up. Anyone that agrees to this is foolish! This appears to me to be Spyware at its finest!

Its just that the type of MATHEMATICAL computations they want to do take time, for example, bring up you windows calculator, now mutiply 124235646 to the power of 234356 by 123 to the power of 8790009 and NOTICE it takes about 30 minutes on a 166MHz PC.
I do not think it is Adware or Spyware, its just some calculations take hours even on a CRAY.

So basically they are going to rent out your CPU for distributed processing and you get nothing for it. Gee, what a deal!
They further say in the agreement that they can use any and all data gathered from your system in any way that they want. Which can be your personal data. You have no guarantee against that
Would you let somebody you dont know access your computer anytime they want & use it in any way that they want? NOT!

Why would anyone be on.....you know, Juno, anyway?. It sucks and blows at an audio rate. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
It sure ain't worth 15-20 bucks a month.
