Cannot get Prince of Persia on MS Dos

    [B]Hai
Im having a small problem. The game I have now is the old "Prince of Persia" which runs in Ms DOS. The first game by Jordan Mechner.

When i open the MS Dos prompt, I know how to start the game. But we then enter a line "4d_Prin Megahit 4". In my computer the game is named as "4D_Prin". I know there is a way to do it. and I hope it is by "Megahit". Please help me

dark, I don't quite understand what your question is. "Megahit" is the command line switch for cheat mode, "megahit 4" will take you directly to level 4.

If you're having trouble activating cheat mode using Win XP, try the instructions here:

    http://www.geocities.com/princeofper.../problems.html

using the instructions in FAQ section /2 on how to run from a batch file, using the modification for 4D Prince of Persia.

    Hope it helps.

And if you're having trouble running the game at all, make sure you're in the right directory for the game before you run it. That means running commands like this:
    Code:
    c:
    cd \
    cd "Program Files"
    cd Prince
Of course, you need to use the drive letter and directory names for where you've put the game on your computer.

Also, make sure that when you're running the command you're not including the quotes. If you run "4d_Prin Megahit" including the quotes then it won't work because Windows expects all that to be the name of the program.

If neither of the suggestions so far relate to your problem, can you be more clear about what you're trying to do and what error you're getting back from the system?

    Hai there

    Darkshade here.
See, I am sorry that the question did not help. Ok here is it.
All I need to know is how to run the game from MS DOS prompt along with the cheats. thats it. So, when we start the game, we should be able to skip the level and all. I hope this makes sense now.

Do you have the actual 4D_Prin.exe file on your desktop, or a shortcut?

Normally the game would be installed into a folder, if 4D_Prin on the desktop in Windows is a shortcut, you won't be able to run that in DOS.

Ah, then your command line would need to be:

    C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\4DPRINCE\4D_PRIN MEGAHIT 5
