File size moved doesn't equal space freed up.
This is odd. In an effort to free up some space on my C drive, I moved a "storage" folder, that was approx. 2G's to another drive. In doing so, I only freed up around 350 mb's of space. Any ideas what might be going on here?
Thanks all.

Hi Dex
Have you tried defragging the drive as it may read more accurate afterwards?

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted, but it does seem like a huge miss-report. My C drive takes about an hour to defrag, so I'll give that a shot as soon as I'm finished with what I'm doing.

Nothing to do with hidden files or compression is it? Like you said, very big difference!

Defrag did it, although, in an indirect way. When I ran Speed Disk, it said there were lost clusters, and I needed to run Disk Doctor. Disk Doctor found, and fixed, the lost clusters, and I got my 2 gig back.
Thanks 104456 and Techno.
