    explorer.exe error browsing Network Neighborhood

One of my office computers has a problem that makes no sense to me. When attempting to open (explore or browse) Network Neighborhood on his Windows XP Pro computer, it results in an Explorer.exe - Application Error.

'The instruction at "0x7c910fd3" referenced memory at "0xfffffff8". The memory could not be "read".'

I have run system file checker, as well as a diagnostic program checking for RAM and HDD errors, but neither found anything to be wrong.

If someone else's profile is used on that computer, they can browse NN with no error. Its not a permissions problem, as he is both a domain admin as well as a local admin.

So it sounds like he has a corrupt user profile. I've seen it before as well (albeit not your exact problem). Log on as the local admin and copy anything he wants to keep from his documents and settings folder to a temporary location (like C:\Bob). Delete his profile from the machine and remove his folder. Reboot and have him log back on. Once you verify this has resolved the issue, move the contents of C:\Bob back to their original location.

If he's a Domain Admin, why does he need your help???

That's the joy of working in a "good ol' boy" office.
