Removing Microsoft Windows Network Group
I am trying to enable internet connection sharing on my 3 pc network. The network allows me to share files without a problem but I am having no end of problem trying to get the client pc onto the internet. In my desperation I set up a second Microsoft Windows Network Group using the Wizard (yes I am getting desperate) anyway now I have my original working group "Workgroup" and a second non-working (non configured) "Workgroup__02". My question is how do I delete the second non working Workgroup_02 which has only been set up on my clinet xp machine. Both machines are running xp pro. I have a 3rd 98SE machine on the network but I haven't even dared mess with the internet connection sharing on that machine.
thanks Mark

Hello Mark,
You cannot physically delete a workgroup. If the workgroup still appears under the old workgroup name, it will eventually go away on its own (not immediately though). If you restart each computer on the network, that might help remove the workgroup from the list through My Network Places.

Hi Eric,
Thank you - I will just ignore it for a while and hope that it goes away on it's own.
Mark
