I think there will be a lot of improvements betwen those two versions, the latest updates in the versions mentioned in the thread title are as follows:

New and improved features in ZoneAlarm Antivirus version 6.0.631.003

    Fixed network detection issue.
    --------------
New and improved features in ZoneAlarm version 6.0.631.002

    Routine maintenance items.
    -----------------
New and improved features in ZoneAlarm Antivirus version 6.0.667.000

Fixed - POP email not working when co-existing with NAV
Fixed - Free ZA blocking some Remote access software from accessing ZA Alert notifications
    Fixed - Propel compatibility issue
Fixed - Multiple 'loopback' entries in firewall zones after upgrade.
Nothing really exciting, but probably makes for an all round improvement.....BUT "if it ain't broke".

If you decide to update you should uninstall your current version before installing the new version. It is highly NOT recommended to install the new over the old.
I use the free ZoneAlarm version 6.0.631.002, and many folks had problems by installing over, I didn't because I uninstalled the old first, and ZA themselves recommend uninstalling old version first.

    zlsSetup_60_667_000.exe has problems

    Hi Poppy.

It's good to read a post from you again. In reply to your question about the newest free ZA update: "AARGH!!!!" That's my response and here's why:

I downloaded the update, but when I doubleclicked to run the install I received the error message that it was "not a valid Win32 application". I don't know what that means, but tried to run it again and had same error message.

When I visited the ZA forums site I was amazed to see so many posts with problems trying to install the new update and problems also after installing it. I posted my own problem there and will wait for any replies. Take a look at the site, Poppy---It'll blow your mind with the numerous problems listed there.

For now I'm glad that it wouldn't run on my computer and I've deleted it. I'm going to wait till they clean up that version before trying to install it.

    Hi summertime,

Have been monitoring the problems as well, and will keep my version 6.0.631.002 operable until I think it is safe.

I just d/l the new version, but will not install until I think the kinks are worked out.

I do think one of the keys to ZA is uninstalling the old entirely before installing the new version....anyway that usually works for me.

hey hmmm, that's good to hear.... ....glad you resolved this.

No problems for me in installing the latest version of ZA and I installed it over the previous, so I would keep my settings.

That's great news Welshjim.........ZA is working hard to fix the bugs, from what I've read in the forums.....and it's nice not to have to mess with the settings.
I had some 'irksome glitches earlier with ZA, but like it enuf to keep. Maybe I'll 'muster up' and try.

While uninstalling ZA using Control Panel|Add/Remove or using zauninst.exe (found in your Zone Alarm folder) is easy enough, it does not always get rid of the bits and pieces
