[RESOLVED] web server

hi guys,

probably the most appropriate section for this question. i have finally installed fed 4 on a partition with windows xp. hoorah. i wish to run a web server for the educational experience. so whenever i can be bothered really. i have tried in vain to find resources on the net but suprisingly can find nothing. i need some bare resources as i am a server noob and have no idea even where to start. when i buy a domain name for example, how do i address this to run from my computer? any links will be apptreciated. thank you
