    Importing Address Book to Opera

Could anyone tell me how to import OE Address Book into the Opera contacts? Tried Import in Opera, did not work. Tried a suggested method from Opera's help, did not work.
    Thanks for any help.

    burget-- from Opera Help
    http://help.opera.com/Windows/8.02/en/mail.html
"Follow this procedure to import messages, contact information, and settings from other e-mail clients:
Select Tools > Mail and chat accounts.
Click "New" and select "Import e-mail".
Select which e-mail client to import from.
If Opera has not located the correct folder, click "Choose" to select the folder the messages are located in.
Select which account to import into; choose "New" to import to a fresh account.
Select whether to import settings, contacts, messages, or a combination.
Click "Import" to start importing. "

burgert--I do not run Opera (though I have it on my PC, so could access the Help file), so cannot really offer much more. But there is a program that claims to do this
    http://www.joshie.com/projects/dawn/
If you do not want to use Dawn, a "work around" would be to open OE|File|Export|Address Book|Comma Separated Value|send to a convenient spot. Now you will have your OE Address Book in a form (a .csv file which will open in Notepad) from which you can easily copy each and put them into the Opera address book. Perhaps with a little editing you could put all of them into the Opera address book with one copy and paste.

Tried Dawn, it doesn’t seem to work with the latest Opera release. I will copy the book as you're suggesting it.
    Thank again.

burgert--Sorry to hear Dawn did not work. Transferring OE's address book to Opera seems to be a problem.
Let us know if the "workaround worked" or if you found a better method.
BTW--The OE address book is YourOEaccountname.wab. (To find it, Search for *.wab.)
P.S. If you are running a paid version of Opera, you could try contracting them for a solution.

    Jim,
I found this on Opera's user forum, awkward but works.

burgert--Thanks for posting back with the fix. I am sure others will find it helpful! (I presume the guy that runs the site sends you the converted list back!!)
And at least I got the first step right!
