    Resolved [RESOLVED] tv tuner record problems

    hi guys. before my computer died my tv tuner worked fine. since reinstalling xp home (sp2), i can no longer record to mpeg4 format. it tells me 'WARNING : Cannot find MPEG4 capture filter interface, please download and install Microsoft MPEG4 or Divix codec.' I have downloaded divx codec from 3 different sites and an mpeg 4 filter. still i cannot record. i fear that maybe my tv tuner is not noticing the newly installed divx codecs.

    After reinstall, did you reinstall the drivers for the tuner card?

    indeed i did. it records in all other formats. i dont understand

    aha. i have solved it. there is an option to choose the codec used to record. i had this configured ok. there was a second option hidden in another section of the settings menu to choose the codec. strange.

    Glad you found the solution. I figured you had or knew to reinstall drivers, but some folks don't know this has to be done when reinstalling xp.
