    cisvc.exe

On my most recently updated signature of AVG, it found two instances of cisvc.exe. Is this harmful and should be deleted? AVG describes it as a "Trojan horse dropper.agent.8.b." AVG found it on 2 of my computers and deleted it. My search reveals that it is not harmful and part of microsoft. What should i do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello BigTimeNovice

    cisvc.exe
This is indeed an MS file and it is also

    http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.p...e&count=&type=

Did you add this one yourself?

As you can see it is a Key Logger and these are usually nasties added without your knowledge.
The antivirus must be identifying it as a nasty, but in this case it is not ( if you installed it deliberately)

If this is the case then you will need to keep both instances of it. If you did not install this program you will need to investigate it further.

I did not install it knowingly. I installed something recently on my computer, but this showed up on the other computer as well which does not have it installed. Maybe it was a virus?

It's a false positive. Another of our members discovered this earlier today...

Update AVG again and replace the files from AVGs quarantine. All is ok
