USB - DVD Writer Problems
Problem:- USB Slots not working - DVD Writer won't eject
Note:- i have 4 USB Ports , 2 Connected directly on the motherboard, 2 conneted via wires to the motherboard
This all Started When i uninstalled my Router because i didn't know the password , my router software contain 2 parts (ethernet,USB), the ethernet installed succesfully , but the usb gives me access is denied
so i removed a USB Root Hub from device manager to install it again, it gives me same warning 'access is denied'
till now 2 ports are working and 2 aren't
i've removed a usb host controller to see if this cures the problem
but it hasn't , and same error if i tried to reinstall
now all USB not working , and i noticed that my DVD-Writer won't eject (i have a non-working cd-writer, and this DVD Writer)
Restarted my PC , and now the USB ports won't even get detected by system
my system specifation
P4 2.4GHz
512MB PC2700 DDR Ram
80 GB Seagate 380023A Harddisk
Matsonic(VIA) 9138D+ Motherboard
Samsung 8X DVD-Writer
any help well be appreciated

Try using the Add New Hardware wizard in the Control Panel. I've heard that it can sometimes get around the "Access is denied" message when trying to install drivers.

Are you using an Administrator account to install the drivers?
And is it a Packard Bell PC by any chance?
