Blue Screen!!
Got a New Prob..Never had this happen before..
My New Maxtor 200Gb HD Works Great As an External...ALAS---When i tried it inside as an Internal i kept haveing a Blue Screen of death....
Windows starts up, gets to the Desktop then Blue Screen kicks in...Rechecked all Cables, changed the drive from Master to Slave but prob blue screen still happens...Its on my PCI ATA card...My two 80Gb n 120Gbt Work Perfectly.---So do I need to tell windows with a Reg Patch to accept a 200gb HD, if so, then why would it work Externaly...Rather Baffled on this un..
THANKS ..

Get the 48-bit update for your card. It can not see that large of a hdd. As that one has a 137GB limitation.
Or you can also updte and buy a ATA133 card which has the 48-bit already in it.
EDIT> Do you have SP1 or SP2 installed? If yes then install it on the IDE where it will be picked up in Computer management.

Hi Train....Yes SP2 plus Updates is Installed on this un..
So I must look to see what PCI ATA 100 card it is, then update the Driver to 48-Bit...Is that correct!

Mines a CMD Technoligies "CMD PCI-0649 Ultra DMA IDE Controller"..n there don't appear to be any 48bit drivers. well none that i can find...all that i find are same uns i'm useing....So it looks like i must spend more money on new Card or use this 200 in my External caddy....Reason for wanting it Internally was to take out my 120 thats full of MP3s n pack it away safe...BPI is on the Rampage in our area...Takeing to long to transfer them to this new HD..
