Laptop - Wireless
We have an IMB Think Pad and it is connected to our internet through a router and we use the D-Link AirPlus G Wireless Utility Card. When we go on vacation and take the laptop with us, will it connect to the internet at places that offer free internet service? There is another card that came with the laptop, so would we use that one instead? I know, sort of a dumb question, but I need to knwo before we leave. Thanks!

Wireless networks can either be "G" or "B". All "G" routers are supposed to be compatible with "B" network adapters and I do not think there are many "B" routers since the technology is obsolete so take the D-Link Airplus "G". "G" is about 5 times faster than "B" too.
I think there is another type of wirelss network: "A". I've never seen any of these. I assume they are even older than "B". Does anyone know?
Hope this helps

Thank you techboy. I just wanted to be sure we could use the laptop at the hotel or wherever we may.
