AMD 64 ATHLON vs. Intel 2.8 CPU
Hiya,
I know this is strictly a personal preference on these two CPU's,but I need to hear from you peeps that have XP Home edition, and do the JPG editing and Video Capture on which CPU brand to go with. I've heard AMD Blows circles around Intel, but the Intel Chipset is regarded as pretty high in the industry, as is ASUS,ABIT,Gigabyt, and MSI when it comes to Motherboards, but again, personal preference.
I would like to upgrade from PC2100 DDR and a Pentium Cel. 2.0 to PC3200 DDR and maybe a 2.8 Cel or AMD 64 Athlon, but only if it's better/faster.
What works best with graphics and Video editing? I need speed and reliability.
Thanks!

An AMD 64 Athlon would kill an Intel 2.8 P4. Comparing the AMD to a Celeron isn't even a fair comparrison.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

If it's graphics you are interested in, then the AMD will edge out the Pentiums as SRJ says. If you are heavy into apps/multitasking, then Pentium is the choice.
BUT as other members here well know, it is Bistro's opinion that if you choose anything other than Pentium then you risk eternal damnation, burning endlessly in the Pit of Eternal Damnation and Endless Burning (catchy name, huh?).
