    A8V Deluxe Manual

I just got two WD SATA 160GB drives and I want to install them in RAID 0 on my A8V Deluxe board but I left my manual at home.., not sure where to plug what, ect. and configure for RAID 0...
I figured it would be online, but its not for whatever reason.., I find that odd..

does anyone know where I could find it online?
does someone have this motherboard and could look on the Driver CD to see if there is a manual on there?

also, there are two SATA RAID controllers on the board.., which one would be better to use?

    thanx in advanced,
    Byan

Byan, it's in the link below. In the first option drop down, pick Motherboard, then in the second option pick socket type, then the next option find your A8V-Deluxe. After that finds what you have, click on the button on top for Manual. Scroll down to the English version.

I guess I am going to use the Promise controller, since it would seem like a controller from promise would be better since basically all they do is controllers..

which one do I use?, It doesn't seem to say anywhere..

if I were to guess, I would choose the one closer to the promise chip; now that I think about it, it has to be..., doesn't it?

well, I made up this picture so I minds well post it and ask...

    thanx,

You will have to wait on someone who is SATA oriented, and that's not me. I don't have SATA on my present motherboard. And believe it or not, never had one come in at work either. I would hazard a guess though, that they are like IDE where you use the first two, then later you can use the second two. Don't quote me on that though, as I say, I've never used SATA drives.

If you want RAID then you need to use the lower ones. The upper ones are for standalone SATA drives.

I don't think so, if you look at the manual, it tells you how to set up RAID for two different controllers..
a VIA controller and a Promise one.., each one allows for RAID..
so I must be able to do so on each of them...
download the manual.., it says how to do the VIA on page 135 and the promise is on page 128..

EDIT- I figured it out, the top ones are VIA, and the bottom ones are the promise, there is stuff in the manual.., just had to find it..
if you want standalone, you have to use the top ones, but the VIA also supports RAID..
so it seems that I will be using the bottom ones..

Glad that's settled...... The manual helps a lot sometimes, and sometimes you have to hunt for what you want to know. Just dig deeper!!

well, its harder to hunt when you have a PDF rather then a real manual..
I found the page by accident...
