Game Saves NOT Found.
Hi all.
I REALLY need your help, guys. I don't know who else to turn to, since no one else will help me, and I have no clue which component in my comp is responsible for this and everything. This is extremely upsetting, as the main reason I bought a new rig is because of gaming. My game saves aren't found in any of my games. I played through a huge portion of Halo, and one day I went to load the file and it's not there. Just save files from very early into the game. Same goes with Doom 3. I got to the EnPro plant which is about a third of the way through the game. Now, today I go to load one of the three identical files (game1, game1 backup, game1 backup 2), they ALL boot me back to the beginning.
This is extremely upsetting and frustrating beyond belief. Please help me.
Thank you.

Hi Gutsman, welcome to VDr
Halo is usualy saved in the My Documents folder. Have a look in "My Documents\my games\halo\saved games" and see if there is anything saved in there. If not, then make sure the folder is not read only. Also, If you can't find it in My Documents, check to make sure that its not saved on another profile on the computer. Does anyone else use the computer but you? Do you have to log in before you enter windows?

Hmmm. The save games ARE there, and when I right click and property it, it is indeed Read-Only. Well, at least I think it is, because it's filled in with a green box. Yet I can also put a checkmark in it aswell, and have it blank completely. I select it to be blank, and then it still insists on being green-filled again.
What the heck.

Try creating a new saved game in Halo. What happens when you try loading it?

I uninstalled, and now re-installed Halo, and my game save works now. I'm thinking it's something with the registry. I'm not even going to attempt un-installing then re-installing Doom 3. It's only a matter of time before it affects Halo again.
Any suggestions?
