what mobo will work best with p4 630 cpu?

    intel Pentium 4 630 Prescott 800MHz FSB 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 EM64T Processor - Retail

Before I speak, I have made a final decision to purchase intel, so please do not recommend that I go with AMD.

So I am wondering what mobo to get with this processor?

Here are a few ones that I found:

    1) ASUS P5WD2 Premium Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 955X ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

    2) ASUS P5LD2 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

    3) ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

    Questions that I have:

    1) If it says DDR 2 800 as the DDR2 standard, does that mean I can use DDR 2 533 1 GB ram, but can upgrade up to DDR 2 800?

    2) Do I really need a firewire device on my mobo?

    3) Are there other motherboards that I should look after?
win 98 1st Edition, PII 450 mhz mmx, gateway GP6-450, soundblaster 64D PCI scard, nvidia RIVA TNT, cable modem, 128 mb/ram, appx 10 GB, plextor 12/10/32 burner.

My personal choice would be the P5WD2....general rule of thumb is to go for the most advanced you can afford in order to "future-proof" as much as possible.
    1. Yes, you can use the 533 on that board, but if you already have the sticks, you should go to their site and check for compatibility...Asus boards can be persnickety as to brands.
    2. Not really, but it could come in handy. You see USB used more often than firewire these days, but you might come across a firewire peripheral device you want to use and it would be nice if you are already set up for it.
    3. No....Asus is the only mobo to get. All others are Bantha poo-doo. (I just said that to rile some people up around here....)
Desktop: Intel i7 960 CPU @ 4.0GHz, EVGA Classified 4-Way SLI mobo, 12GB Corsair Dominator-GT 2000 DDR3 RAM, Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB Solid State Drive, Two WD 2TB SATA drives, 2x EVGA GTX 570 Superclocked graphics cards in SLI, Coolermaster HAF X full tower case, OCZ ZX 1250w PSU, Corsair H100 CPU Cooler
Laptop: MSI GT60-004US, 2x Seagate Momentus XT 750GB SSD Hybrid drives in RAID 0, 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM, GeForce 670M 3GB graphics card, Networks 'Killer' N-1103 WLAN card

someone told me the new ddr2's have latency issues compared to the regular ddr mobos. Is that true and would it even be a noticeable problem if I were to use the ddr2 ram with music recording programs, and other ram heavy progs?
