Steal my connection Speed??
I'm sharing DSL internet connection with my cousins through local area network. As soon as one of my one new friend joins our network our internet connection speed became extremely slow. All my friends say that he's forcing the network to speed up his connection, but we really don't know anything about that.
Do u guys think it is possible for him to force his connection to speed up slowing down ours??

They are all connected through the internet server. I think it is a star bus topology.

Typically, if he's downloading large files with any kind of application, commonly P2P (file sharing programs like Kazaa etc) then all the other computers on the network would suffer speed loss.
He wouldn't be forcing so much as hogging. Small difference but the results are the same

If your using a modem/router you could try port blocking to eliminate P2P from the equation.
