Network Places not available, same domain?
Hi all
2 servers on the same domain, both running Windows 2003 Server (enterprise).
Server 1 can see server 2 in My Network Places, all as it should.
Server 2 cant see server 1 in My Network Places, in fact when you go onto Server 2, and click the domain name it says 'Domainname is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permission...'
Logged in as Domain Admin, and able to browse network manually, ie \\server1 no probs.
Any ideas?
This is part of a bigger problem. Server 1 and 2 are both running Exchange, Server 1 is Master and Server 2 is Member.
Server 1 can send/receive mail internally + externally, full functionality.
Server 2 can only send mail internally, thats it.
I think this problem might be due to the fact that the 2 obviously are not communicating properly with each other, and/or one is not communicating properly with the network/domain.
Thanks
Hong

Ok, got a bit further with this one. I managed to get the SMTP routing sorted out between the 2 servers's and the My Network Places issue had mysteriously solved itself
The only issue now is:
When I try to do Send/Receive on a mailbox located on Server 2, its gives me error 0X8004010F, which is to do with the Offline Address Book.
Looking at ESM, the OAB has not replicated between the 2 servers so anything on Server 2 cant see them. I have set the replication properties for all the folders, and set the priority to Urgent, sync every hour. This has been on over the weekend, and the replication status for the OAB still hows 'In Sync' for Server 1 but 'Loca MOdified' for server 2.
I have also tried an OAB rebuild, it didnt solve the problem.
Question is, how to I force immediaste replication between the 2? Google is not helping much!!
Thanks
Hong

As far as your network problems go, make sure you have DNS configured correctly in the TCP stack of Server2. In other words, verify your DNS entry is pointing to a valid server for your domain.

Yep, all verified. The only problem I seem to be having now is getting the Offline Address Book to replicate to server 2, without it Outlook wont Receive mail.
Thanks
