IE6 back button prob?
Hi all, recently my back button on IE6 does not seem to work properly, I have to hit it 3 or 4 times before it will go back to previous page, and allot of times it wont go back at all?
I have spybot search and destroy , ms antispyware, pestpatrol ,webroot spysweeper, spywarebaster= blocking host files, system mechanics spython, and adawre se . all show no spyware, and my avast AV shows no viruses?
Any Idea why my back button is having problems going back? Thanx newme

Hi, you might want to try the IE repair, if you are running ME or 98 go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, click on system information, in the SI window click the tools tab, should be an option to repair IE. Sidewinder

newme--Just to the right of the Back button is a down arrow (assuming Back is an active button). If you click on the arrow you will see where hitting the Back button will take you. It often is not the page you last viewed. It often will be an advertisement page (loaded after the last page you visited). I do not know the logic of all that, but I seldom use the Back button because of it. Rather when I go from one page to the next, I right click a link|Open in New Window. When I am finished with the page I click the X at top right and I am really back to where I started.
So your Back button may be working perfectly normally, at least as far as Windows is concerned.
