Help with Access Database
Hi all
Ok, my dad rung me up yesterday for a favour and I stupidly agreed to it wihtout thinking first...
He wants a database he can use at the takeaway. These are his requirements.
- To be able to take the customer's name and address the first time round, then all he has to do is input telephone number and it will bring up the address for him automatically.
- To be able to input the order number, and it will bring up the name of the dish and also the price. He should then be able to click a button to add it to an order.
- When he is finished he should then be able to click a button to finalise the order, add any/subtract any extra charges and it would generate a receipt (report?) that he can print out.
I think thats all he wanted. Where would I even start? I have no clue with Access.
I dont even know what kind of guides I would be looking for!!
Thanks
Hong

There is specialist software available for that sort of thing. Here's one such:
http://www.pointofsuccess.com/
it might be a lot easier than trying to get a general purpose DB to do what you want.

Is he paying you for this?
If so register the project on www.rentacoder.com and someone will do it for you

Nope not a paid job being his son :P
I'll look into both of the links you gave. I'll also explain that unless he shells out for my own training, he'll have to shell out for someone else to do it.
