Help resize my jpg windows.........
Without warning all my C:\Pics folder "jpgs" now open in a small window. I have resized the windows and clicking the icon reopens full size that session, But i cant do this for all 10, 20, 500 pics.
What did i do to cause this or better how can i undo this so that when i click on a picture it open maximized window?
No properties to select as with shortcuts and the shift key works with the one pic. I need to reset the whole Pic folder.
Thanks for any suggestions...

What program are you using to open you jpgs? In IE (blue E) right click the shortcut icon and change the RUN window to maximize.

Which did you change from, minimize or normal window? Try back to Normal window.

I extracted this from several post.

2 ways.
1. Hit Ctrl and n keys at same time. Don't know if that works for Netscape.
This will make a duplicate of your open browser.
2. Click your little IE icon in the quick launch bar in the lower left.
This will open your home page site.
If you use the desktop icon or a link from favorites, it will reuse the browser you have open.

Here's another way: In Internet Explorer, at the very top left of your screen go to File, then click on New>Window. That will get you an exact duplicate of the current page you're on. Then you can browse, copy, paste, etc. as ghoudini suggested

If you want a blank browser window and don't want to wait for the homepage to load, there is a way. create a new shortcut and then drag it to quick launch, or leave it on the desktop. Right click on an empty space on the desktop.
choose New> shortcut
Here is the command
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome
Press next. Choose a name. Click finish.
I like a window to run maximized. To have that, right click on the finished shortcut Icon and choose properties. There will be a box "run" with a drop down menu choose maximized or leave it as normal if you like. Press "apply"
You can then either leave it there or drag it to the Quick Launch toolbar. Also, your other IE shortcut can bring up a maximized window
using the same method.
When you activate this IE, it will not be fully functional until you
activate a link in favorites or start a search etc. But it will load in a split second.
Maybe something will help??
OH, yes, normally I drag the window to max close it holding control and they open to the size I had them.

Netfish:.. Changed from "normal" to max...Now changed back to "normal window"
The myCom\c\pics folder open and the jpg's "still" open in a Small window???
Train :... You lost me except the "close while pressing ctrl"...I've tried that too.
The pics are within a folder...Any folder i have that contains jpeg's open to a small window when pic icon is clicked.
All browser windows open full window. The prob. is just opening within folders???

I know someone has experience this. I cant be the first

I’ll ask the question Netfish asked in a different way. When you open the picture what does it say in the uppermost left corner of the box – the title bar? The image has to be opening in something.
Whatever it is you should be able to hold your left mouse button down while dragging the corners to the full size of the screen. If you close it this way it will open to that size the next time.
If that doesn’t work download IrfanView: http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm and set it to open all of your image types when you install it. It always seems to default to the full size and is the best image viewer I’ve found.

Slipe... I mention they opened in IEXPOLRER.
The little ie icon C:\pics\xxx.jpg
And i changed to maximized but no change. And yes you can maximize each one and it opens full view next time...but I got over 800... and one at a time??? Something changed it and something can change it back.
I have searched and not found the answer yet. I'll keep looking.
I hate i had to be the one to "stump" the panel today... But thats the problems i have. Thanks anyway guys.

Well it has come to this. At command prompt type scanreg /restore. Pick the farthest date back hoping before this started. You have 5 dates to choose from. This will reset the registry back to when it was working.

Is Internet Explorer opening full screen but the picture is just in a small box inside IE? What icon are you clicking to make the picture larger? If IE is opening small screen have you tried physically dragging the box larger without clicking the maximize icon in the upper right? When the box doesn’t open maximized it opens to the last size and shape you left it. If you drag it to full size it will open just like it is maximized the next time you open it if you close it that way. Train says to close the window while holding the Ctrl key. All my windows seem to open the same way without doing that but you might try that also.
If that isn’t the problem and Netfish’s solution does not work I suggest you use IrfanView.

Hey stump the panel was in jest..for sure
This forum has saved my but more times than i can count...Just seems my probs are always so darn complicated.
Netfish...this has been going on for a month or so ..registry does last five boots..so no luck there. Thanks for the tip. In case of another situation i can do that sooner.
Slipe...no. IE opens full frame. Everything opens full except the "jpegs" in my picture folder. No other probs. I can drag them full frame or maximize them and close or ctrl/close and "IT" opens full frame the next time. But the other 500 still open in a small frame within the main pic folder with the jpeg icons.
Mosaic1... Took a chance (registry novice) and removed the line you suggested. Rebooted went to pic folder opened and ctrl/close and ...same situation.
That pic opens full if i click the same pic icon. However the rest still open in their small little box. This really has stumped "ME" . I know something changed this and I just cant figure what has changed except i installed photoed and had to go back and edit "jpg" to "open" with IExplorer instead of "photoed". Thats probably where this started...maybe. But if i have to open all 500 and max them and ctrl/close...well so be it. (darn it)
I really do appreciate the help from you guys. If you want to edit my registry and try again ...I'm willing.
Thanks everyone. You have more important things to work on than the size of my pics...
Appreciate the effort...carson

Let me throw in some other things that might apply. Open a jpg again with open with. Check 'Always use this program' etc.. Also try Reset Web Settings in Internet Options/Programs tab. Or uninstall IE and reinstall again.

Mosaic1...Tried w/o reboot. Same thing. (my pics are big and need the full view.)
What file association did you change to? I think thats when this prob began. When i installed "photed" and it took as default...Then i went to file types and changed jpgs back to iexplore..the same command as the other jpeg icon had.
"C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe"
Might be something with the "use DDE" box.?
My neighbor said it might need some kind of "%1" command in DDE. Both my jpeg and jpg file views/open /edit have DDE unchecked.?
Netfish...Highlighted and shift/right click/ open with /iexplore...same small window. Reset web settings didnt help either.
Thanks for you persistence.
