Problem with slave HD
Lately my slave drive is not being recognized. I need to know what action I need to take to fix this. Slave drive has my Ghost image of my operating system and other important files...
Heard at a local auto-repair shop:
"I couldn't repair your brakes,
so I made your horn louder."

Make sure that all of its connections are secure.
If they're ok and it's on the IDE 2 channel by itself, then make sure the IDE 2 controller is enabled in BIOS, and it has no problems in Device Manager.
If those are ok, then install a different known working IDE cable, and connect a different power lead to the HD.
If no luck, then run the diagnostics at the HD manuf's site, and/or see if the drive works in another system.
If it fails these, then it's probably bad.
