    Amd 3500+

I have bought a AMD 3500+ and am trying to put it on the mother board. However i am not sure whether i have to put thermo-paste on CPU or not. Mother board manual says yes but i can't find thermo-past in the package.

    Thanx in advance

You absolutely need to use some sort of thermal interface material, either thermal paste or a thermal pad. If the processor you bought was a boxed-retail version then it should have come with a thermal pad attached to the heatsink. If you bought an OEM version then by default there would be no pad or paste supplied (you'll need to get some).
Please remember to post back whether your problem is resolved or
not, so that others may gain from the knowledge.

And,,if the latter from Doc is the case,I'd suggest you get Arctic Silver5 compound. Application instructions and other good info here: http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...structions.htm

I would use the Arctic Silver instead of the pad. If it is a retail Cpu it will have a thermal pad on the bottom of the heatsink. If you decide on using the pad don't forget to take the plastic cover ( tape over thermal pad) off 1st. If its an OEM cpu your going to need a heatsink / fan and thermal paste.
