    Outlook Express problem

    I have a weird problem with Outlook Express and even my ISP cannot help, so wonder if anyone has come across this problem before. I can receive mail OK, but when sending I get an error message to the effect that the recipient is rejected by my server and prohibited by administrator.
    I have formatted the computer and still have the same problem.
    Also I have noticed that there is some software on the computer even after formatting called GO BACK 3 - I have never installed this program and it has only recently appeared. It appears to be a program which gives a choice to return to a previous setting when you have obtained a problem.

    mathilda--Is this happening with all you outbound email? If only one address, it could be that person or domain has gotten on a blacklist and no email is accepted. There is nothing you can do about that. The fault would lie in some server in the routing of those emails.

    Have you installed Norton Systemworks? Go Back is part of it. I would not think that "Go Back" has anything to do with the problem.

    Actually I have been over to solve the Outlook Express problem - it was due to the fact that my friend had a dialup connection and he had connected at our home with his ADSL system, although we were with the same ISP. All is ok now.
    With GoBack, thanks for explaining that, I had not seen it before. Why though would it still be on the computer and be at startup when I had formatted the computer. I haven't installed any software on the computer since formatting, and have connected to the Internet with only done the Microsoft updates.

    mathilda--Thanks for posting back. Good to learn what the problem was.
    Someone else recently had the problem you describe. I had not realized that dialup and DSL connection were so incompatible until I saw this thread

    Concerning your 'goback' question. If it(or system works) was previously installed,it may have put entries in your MBR(master boot record). A simple format will/may not remove the MBR entries for goback. A M$ fix that may help is here .

    Thanks Ridge - fortunately the computer is working OK now, and we have reinstalled NSW. Hopefully the other problems we had prior to the formatting have fixed too.
