New Mods
Guess these things aren't announced anymore, but...
Congratulations to Hongman and Sidewinder in beginning your moderator jobs here today. And to Ridgerunr, though I held off weeks now thinking there would be an announcement, a belated gratulations to you too. The best to all of ya!!!
Please remember to post back whether your problem is resolved or
not, so that others may gain from the knowledge.

Hmm I noticed that Hongman had become one and also looked for some sort of announcement but failed to find any.
Noticed that AlaricD and Vernon Frazee are no longer moderators listed on http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showgroups.php?
What forums do RidgeRunr and Sidewidner moderate ?
Not listed on the above link.

Wasn't Anne Marie a mod here? She's gone too, and that's a major loss.
The true test of character is not how much we
know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do

This all happened rather quickly today so no formal announcement was made, AlaricD & Vernon just pulled a dissapering act on us so they were replaced. AnnMarie just decided to step down. Ridge & Sidewinder are what we call floaters, they were brought onboard so we would have enough staff on hand for the anticipated growth we are expecting. ramie3 said he does not have time to spend the required time so hong being our resident Linux/Unix expert was asked to replace him. In a post in the VDr is very sick, I alluded to the fact that there were a few moderators who rarely made appearances at VDr.
So maybe they contacted them and asked them if they still wanted to do so and they said no.
EDIT:
There you go BJ beat me to the post.
I guess it shows that we do realise who our moderators are / were and that they are not just faceless names in the etherworld.

I only just noticed this post too. First off thanks for all the congrats. Second, if you think I'm an expert, have you seen mike147?! He knows a lot more.
Anyways, I'm happy. The Linux forum seems to be flourishing nicely, and hopefully, with a bit of help it can continue to grow.

I noticed Ridge's a while back also, but wasn't quite sure about it since it doesn't really say Moderator...now I know for sure. Saw Hong's the other day and just figured that that's the way it's done around here...silently.
Congratulations guys.

To Hongman and Sidewinder, and Ridgrunr; 3 more knowledgeable minds join the ranks of those other great Mod minds. Our gain folks!!!
Perhaps a saying attributed to Robert Browning is appropriate for VDR and it's Mods about now!!
Aspire, break bounds. Endeavor to be good, and better still, best.
