    Autorun Not Working

I have Windows XP SP2 Home Version. When I put a CD or a DVD in either my DVD player drive or my DVD burner drive the disk does not autorun. It could be a new program to install, a DVD movie or even a blank disc. All of these should open.
Can someone advise where I need to go to enable all of these issues.
As always thanks for your help.

    Hi Coach,

Right-click on the drive icon for your CD drive, CD recorder, or DVD drive, and select Properties.

Choose the AutoPlay tab, and choose the desired action for each type of CD. For example, choose Music CD, then click Select an action to perform, then select Take no action

Ok, I clicked the drives in question, higilighted what I want to happen and then click apply. Or do I highlight what I want to happen and click take no action and then apply. I have done both and neither one works.
What would be my next step.
    Thanks
