    Zone Alarm 5.5.062 Free Version

My Internet Zone Security is set to High
My Trusted Zone Security is set to High too.
It has been set like this for some time and had no problem with surfing.
All of a sudden it will not open pages unless I set to them MEDIUM.
    1) I wonder what the reason might be?
    2) Is it SAFE?
    please...thank you.

hmmm--Your title for this thread suggests it has to do with ZoneAlarm, but what you discuss has to do with Internet Explorer. So I am a little confused.
All of a sudden it will not open pages unless I set to them MEDIUM.
    All pages or just some?
    Any error messages?
It is a little unusual to set Trusted Sites to High. The whole idea of Trusted Sites is that you do not expect .NET, ActiveX, etc. to be a problem.
Are the sites causing problems in Trusted Sites? Suggest you change Trusted Sites to Low.
What happens if you change the security levels for Internet Sites|Custom Level to Medium?
As you can see from the description of High compared to Medium, the main difference is whether to permit cookies. It is not often that a site will not permit access because you do not allow cookies, but there are some that do.

Thank you for your reply Welshjim.
Sorry about the confusions. I was purely talking about the setting in Zone Alarm.
    To answer your questions:
    1) All pages were giving me problem.
    2) I had no error messages.

    My Internet explorer settings are:
    Internet Med.
    Trusted Sites Low.

    My Zone alarm Settings are:
Trusted and Internet sites to Med.
Is it SAFE to leave Zone Alarm settings to Medium?
    Thank you.

hmmm-My ZA settings are Internet--High, Trusted--Medium. No problems opening web pages.
Do you get any error messages?
Do you have Internet Explorer (or whatever your browser is) set to Allow to have access to the Internet under ZA's Programs window?
Has your proxy server setting changed? IE Tools|Internet Options|Connections tab|either LanSettings or Settings depending on whether you use broadband or dial up. (You could change it from whatever it is now to the opposite and see what happens.)

Thank you for your answer Welshjim.
I have set my ZA settings: Internet--High, Trusted--Medium too. No problems so far. Keep fingers cross.
    Thanks again.

hmmm-they are crossed. I have a hard time believing that was the fix, but who is to argue with good results!! Maybe something just needed rresetting.
