    Another ODD one--Printer Networking

I hope I have described this revolting predicament satisfactorily!!
Am having a difficult time networking a new Brother HL-2040 printer with my two networked PCs.
I dual-boot Win98SE and WinXP Pro on my PC and the printer is physically connected to the Duron running WinXP Pro only. I haven't any problem printing from either machine but only while in WinXP Pro. I cannot print from my PC when using Win98SE.
In my Win98SE printer folder I have 3 printers shown installed--one of them is the Brother and the other two are the former HP722C. I cannot even click of the either of the HP printers(while hoping to remove them) without locking up the PC.
I get the message: Spool 32 caused a stack fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff7a2a1 and then some lines of more info. I cannot find a way to remove those 2 HP printers from the folder. I think that if I could, I could hopefully get on with the networking of the printer. Of course, I don't know that leaving them there creates a problem either. Anyone got an answer or something I could try. As always, TIA.

Do you have the 98 printer drivers loaded? If so, you may want to create a virtual printer on the XP machine and call it Brother 98 or something like that and then network to it that way.

Thanks jmwills but I haven't been able to implement a way to do as you suggested. Just not that computer literate---yet. The new printer's drivers are installed in both OSes but apparently incorrectly on the Win machine.

I guess what I was trying to say was install the same printer twice on the XP machine with one of them using 98 drivers.

The above lines appeared in my first post. I have since found a way to get the HP drivers removed and now only have the Brother drivers installed in Win98SE but I have not yet gotten the Brother printer networked. I can print from my PC when I am booted to WinXP Pro but I still cannot print when I am booted to Win98SE.

BTW, the drivers for the Brother printer appear to be the same for Win98 and WinXP. (same size)
