Editing Software Question
I am going to copy VHS tapes to my PC and then I want to Burn them to a DVD. What is the easiest and best software to use? I want to be able to set up titles and maybe add music. There are so many programs out there I need an opinion.
Thanks for your help.

If you don't already have it,you will need a video capture card or an ATI All In Wonder video card that has the capture feature built-in. depending on the age of your VCR,you will have an RCA jack and 2 sound jacks(left and right channels) or SVideo(better) connector. If you have this needed hardware, then on to the software.
The video on your VHS tape will be Mpeg1 format. This would need to be captured(ideally) to Mpeg2 for DVD quality. The ATI software will let you set to mpg2 and a 'good' capture card such as the Hauppauge mentioned in this thread has software that is good also.
For editing and adding sound/voice and such,I personally don't do that. Ulead studio and others let you do pretty much what you want with video, but some have a large learning curve. A good article concerning this is here: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/video-editing.htm

A very good tutorial on capturing video basics is Lord Smurf's site.
Hope this helped a' bit...
edit: forgot to mention, for burning,I use the Vision Express3 feature in the latest Nero software. you can add video files of choice, join them as one(if you want)add chapters to your movie either automatically or where you desire.
