Un/installing Symantec AV messed up IE, Yahoo IM, WMP
I was upgrading Norton's AV 2003 to AV Corp and didn't uninstall the 2003. When I realized it was on there, I went to ADD/REMOVE programs and removed it. I then got an error about AV Corp not being able to load, so I disabled it and rebooted.
Once I rebooted, I happened to try to open Windows Media Player and it gives me the error listed in the attachment. When I opened Yahoo IM, I get the pop up window when people IM me, but no text. No text is shown as I send it either.
When I go into IE, I cannot click any buttons (such as REPLY in Yahoo Mail) & I get the error message on some websites that my java script is not enabled, but the settings seem to be correct.
I've attempted to uninstall IE and WMP and reinstall, and I get the same error with WMP stating "AN INTERNAL APPLICATION ERROR HAS OCCURRED". No other info and search MS site and couldn't find anything.
Also, if I go to WINDOWS UPDATE or WINDOWS RECOVERY, I just get a blank browser page.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

"Who's the more foolish: The fool or the fool who follows?"
"Now, if it's not the player itself and you have not installed any codec
packs at any point then the problem is most likely your video or audio
drivers. To test this launch mplayer2.exe (Start>>Run>>Type "mplayer2.exe")
and see if you can play video and audio files without issues. "
I CAN run mplayer2.exe without any problems...but where now?
