No longer have to ctrl/alt/del after startup, why?

After a powerup on our work Laptops we need to do a ctrl/alt/del to logon to the Lan. A friends laptop by passes this now and the PC comes fully up and available for use. Any idea how to get the prompt to come up again?

In Win XP, click on Start->Run and type: control userpasswords2

    Look in the advanced tab.
