Sound troubles, please help.....
Hi all, got a problem that is driving me crazy, im running a Creative SB Live! (WDM) soundcard & when listening to my MP3 collection or listening to cd's the volume spikes, goes real loud then drops back down again, Tried updating the drivers for my card but that didnt help. Thought it might have been Musicmatch but updated to a newer version & that didnt help either. Running WinXP Pro. If anone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Sidewinder

Hi sidewinder. Have did you try playing these before they were on the cd? If so, were they fine before you burned them? I'm guessing here because I've never had this problem but have heard about it and could be they need editing before burning to cd as the volume on certain ones needs adjusting.

Yes maam, it does the same thing in WMP, I have a feeling it might be a conflict with the creative drivers compatibility with XP.Will do some searching on the web tommorrow for some updated drivers, will let you know how it comes out. Thanks for the help, you seem like the only one who's trying. Sidewinder

You're welcome for the help Sidewinder. Where did you get the driver from? From Creative or XP? I've heard that drivers can be downloaded from the UK site of creative and maybe they have a better update there. I'll see if I can find that website for you.
Found it. See below:

Thanks for your help photolady & thanks to my big brother im back up & running again, after a lot of searching at the site you supplied he finally found the drivers specifically for my soundcard. He ran the file & it gave the option to remove all the previous installed software, he did that & rebooted & went ahead with the install. Everything works perfectly. Sidewinder

You're welcome Sidewinder. Glad to hear big brother was able to find the correct drivers and you're up and running again.
