    DVD Decoder Upgrade

I get a Pop up window that looks suspicious at best. it says, "DVD Decoder Upgrade". Says it is the "Help and support center for windows XP".
It gives me two choices of what to do:
Go to the Web site to download an updated decoder, or
Create a desktop shortcut so that you can upgrade later.
I do not have a DVD Player or recorder.
Can some one tell me if this is a bonnified deal from Microsoft, or is it a Virus of some kind, and how to get rid of it from popping up.
I have Add aware, and Spy bot, which neither shows it in their scans.
Neither my AVG nor the trend house call online virus scan comes up with this. Thanks for info on what this is, and how to get rid of it.

When you get that popup, hit the button above INSERT, called PrntScrn.

Then go into a pic editor like Irfanview or Paint and do a CTRL-V.

    Save as JPEG.

The InterVideo DVD will not Uninstall from the add/remove in conterol panel.

If I go their website and download the free trial version will that "fix" what ever Uninstall files seem to not be working and let me then try to uninstall it again?

Or can someone post the steps to manually remove it from the system registry? In times past I got instructions from McAfee to manually delete an older version of their antivirus from the registry before I could install a newer version.
It went well, so I feel I can follow similar steps for deleting the Intervideo dvd if someone can help me with the steps to do so. thanks
