DVOM--Your idea of manually adding "content.ie5" to the Windows address for Temporary Internet Files was an eyeopener.
I posted somewhere some time ago saying that I could not understand the function of the "Content.IE5" files that Search found on my Win XP PC. They were all empty or at most had alphanumeric files that only had a desktop.ini and/or an index.dat file in them--no other files. No one had an answer.
Now I find what I was looking for in
C:\Documents and Settings\DVOM\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5 !! There are the old familiar alpha numeric folders chock full of recently downloaded files. As you say, why would MS hide them? (My Search function is set up to find Hidden Files so these are doubly hidden since Local Settings is a hidden folder.)

But now the bad news. I found that the "goodtobeindc[1].swf " file from JibJab, but it will not play when I click on it even though I presumably have Flash and Shockwave installed. (I saw the .swf file just fine yesterday from the internet.) I put all my Security ActiveX settings to Enable (except unsigned), but no luck. I also tried Windows Media Player, but it told me my ActiveX controls would not permit playing!! (I am a little uncomfortable allowing the unsigned ones to run.)
Were you able to get the downloaded .swf file in the Content.IE5 folderto play ?

zeszut, you may have your IE set to delete that cache everytime it's closed. Have you set your system to show hidden and system files? If they're hidden a search won't find them.
I do show hidden & system files. How do I check my cache deletion. I don't think it's on delete but I don't know where the settings are.

Welshjim, to get it to play I had to do a "open with" and use IE or Opera.

DVOM--No luck with goodtobeindc.swf. Tried IE and Irfanview (with plug ins). No big deal.
Much more important to learn where the real Content.IE5 folders are.

I see there's athird SWF entry in this series ("Second Term").

I ran it from the internet and, later, found it in the CONTENT.IE5 folder. Thanks for this information.

"Second Term" seems to run okay in IrfanView as well as SWF Opener.
