Converting drive to NTFS
My c:\ drive is formatted NTFS and my back up drive partitioned to d:\ & e:\ is Fat 32. Should I convert this HD to NTFS?
Is there a down side to doing it or does it make any difference?
Thanks!

The only downside is that if the volume wasn't fromatted using WinXP you may end up with a 512 byte cluster size, which isn't great for performance. This article explains what you need to do to avoid that:

Thanks for the reply SuperSparks. I'll print that and study it. I use that drive only for backup, so if there is no advantage and it don't cause problems with Windows, I'll leave it alone.
Thanks for the link.

keep in mind that data loss is possible when converting.

Thanks chris wolf for the reply.
I think I will just leave it alone until I get into a position to format and clean it off. I it is empty there should be no problems.
The e:\ drive partition is empty it is where I had my ghost back up for win98 before I Put XP on.
